What is an inspection?

A professional home inspection is a visual examination of the home with an experienced eye. It is an impartial, third party evaluation of the physical structure and major systems of a house. The inspection is a reasonable effort to disclose the conditions existing on the day of the inspection.

What will I get from an inspection?

Mike will help prepare you for proper maintenance of your investment, will show you how to operate the systems in the house, and locate where the emergency cutoffs are in the dwelling. He has the knowledge and experience to inform you of potential problems and recommend possible solutions.

Should I be there for the inspection?

We invite the client to participate in the inspection. By becoming part of the process you will gain a better understanding and knowledge of the property while strengthening your decision making ability. We bring real value and meaning to the inspection, providing plenty of time to review and clarify all issues relevant to the report.

How long does an inspection take?

In most cases, the average inspection takes approximately 2 1/2 hours depending on the size, condition and age of the property.

How do I schedule and pay for an inspection?

Call Meyer Inspections anytime and schedule an appointment to meet Mike at the property. Inspections can usually be scheduled 6 days a week.

Payment by cash or check is due at the time of the inspection. Upon completion of the inspection you will receive a formal written inspection report detailing the condition of each item inspected. We provide buyers, sellers, property owners and agents with accurate information essential to evaluating a property’s condition. Through inspection, consultation and detailed reporting we review:
  • Grounds: drainage
  • Structural: foundation, crawlspace, footings / columns, floors, walls, chimneys
  • Roof and Attic: insulation, structure, coverings, flashing, skylights, vent / stacks
  • Interior: walls, ceilings, windows, floors, doors, stairs, fireplaces, smoke detectors (test buttons)
  • Exterior: grading, walls, coverings, patios / decks, patio covers, sidewalks / driveways, soffits / fascias, doors / windows / trim, gutters / downspouts, retaining walls, fences / gates
  • Heating / Air Conditioning: description, combustion system, A/C components, supply / discharge lines, venting, ductwork / registers, controls / thermostats. Solar Systems. Gas leaks, Carbon Monoxide testing!

Your Deluxe inspection report is easy to understand. Corresponding artwork and detailed explanations are printed on the back of each report form for greater understanding and future reference.
